According to a statement from the Sudanese army, diplomats and citizens of the US, UK, France, and China are to be evacuated from Sudan as combat there continues.
It added that Fattah al-Burhan, head of the army, has pledged to facilitate and ensure their exit “in the coming hours.”
He and the leader of the Rapid Support Forces, a rival paramilitary group, are engaged in a fierce power battle.
A week of conflict has resulted in hundreds of deaths throughout the nation.
A previous plan to remove foreign nationals was never put into action due to safety concerns.
Additionally, Saudi Arabia has declared that it will organize the evacuation of “brotherly” nation nationals and Saudi citizens from Sudan. The diplomatic mission of Saudi Arabia had reportedly been evacuated, according to the Sudanese army.
